The website processes personal data on the grounds of our legitimate interest in ensuring it functions well by collecting data to improve the website. We attach great importance to protecting the personal data and privacy of our website visitors and will never process more personal data than strictly necessary. All data is treated in the strictest confidence and is never handed to third parties other than the two service providers in the specific use-cases in the following two paragraphs.


This website collects email addresses that visitors voluntarily supply when signing up to the Longtang newsletter. Longtang uses the online marketing tool Mailchimp by The Rocket Science Group LLC to manage email marketing subscriber lists and send email to subscribers. Google Analytics

The website use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files placed on the website visitors’ devices to allow us to analyse how they interact with the website by collecting and anonymously reporting information like the device types used for visiting the website, the device locations, and session durations and interactions with the websites. The website make use of IP anonymization, which ensures that the website visitors’ IP addresses will be truncated as soon as technically feasible at the earliest possible stage of the collection network and will never be fully written to disk. Website visitors can disable the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in their browser. Logging in with their Google Account allows visitors to keep track of their visiting history and take part in a rewards system based on their interactions with the website. The Google Account is strictly used to access the user's database entries consisting of the user's reading history, the user's registration date, the user's chosen nickname and an identifier linking the user entry to the Google Account, allowing login. Upon deletion of an account by the user via the account interface, all data stored to the database is permanently deleted.
